"Every Contact Counts"

The Every Contact Counts program is a customer service
training piece focused primarily on improving the quality of care
for patients with disabilities. Using the Problem Based Learing approach,
it is respectful of the expertise of participants and fosters a strong
personal connection to the resulting suggestions and lessons.
The program
is designed to raise disability awareness for medical professionals,
especially front line employees (those dealing with the public
face-to-face on a daily basis.) Other targeted employees are: Health
care clinicians, Social workers, Health care administrators, Human
resources professionals and Patient representatives. The goal of
the session is to advocate
through policy and practice for individuals with disabilities
within the
hospital
setting .
The program has been presented hospitals, doctor's
offices, insurance providers and others. These facilities range from
members of small and large healthcare systems to independent offices
and facilities.
